Training Registration, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Last Updated: August 27, 2026

This Training Registration, Cancellation and Refund Policy explains the general terms that apply when registering for training offered by LeadShield LLC (“LeadShield,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This policy applies to RRP Certification Training, RRP Refresher Training, qualifying continuing education opportunities, and other LeadShield classes unless different terms are clearly provided for a specific course.

By registering for a LeadShield class, you agree to this policy and any additional terms presented during registration.

Training Registration

Registration is required for LeadShield training classes.

Individual class listings may include information about:

  • Course type
  • Date and time
  • Training venue
  • Registration price
  • Available seats
  • Attendance requirements
  • Continuing education eligibility
  • Items attendees should bring
  • Additional class-specific terms

Registration is considered complete only after all required registration information and payment have been successfully submitted.

Who LeadShield Training Is For

LeadShield training is designed primarily for contractors, firms, property managers, maintenance professionals, sole proprietors, and paid specialty tradespeople who perform covered renovation work.

Utah’s RRP requirements apply to many paid renovation, repair, and painting activities in pre-1978 housing, rental units, childcare facilities, schools, and other covered properties.

Attendees are responsible for selecting the course that applies to their current training and certification status.

RRP Certification Training Registrations

Utah requires individuals seeking renovator certification to successfully complete an accredited 8-hour renovator training course and then complete additional state certification requirements.

Completing a LeadShield class and receiving a course-completion certificate does not by itself complete the Utah certification process.

Students should understand that the training course and the state certification application are separate steps.

ATLAS Application Guidance

LeadShield includes guidance on the Utah ATLAS application process as part of its RRP training approach.

Utah DAQ uses ATLAS for company and individual certification applications. After completing applicable training, individuals must still submit the required certification application and Citizenship Certification Form to the state.

LeadShield can explain the process, but each attendee remains responsible for completing and submitting the required application accurately.

RRP Refresher Training Registrations

Refresher training is intended for previously trained renovators who need to maintain their certification.

Utah’s guidance identifies an accredited 4-hour refresher course every five years as part of maintaining individual renovator certification.

Attendees are responsible for confirming that refresher training is the correct course for their current certification status before registering.

Course Fees and Payment

Course prices will be displayed on the applicable class listing or provided during registration.

Any required payment must be completed according to the instructions provided for that class.

Additional charges, such as an applicable continuing education reporting fee, may be listed separately when relevant.

Continuing Education

Continuing education hours may be available only for eligible attendees and licensing programs.

Attendees seeking CE credit should confirm:

  • Their license or program eligibility
  • The number of hours available
  • Any applicable reporting fee
  • Required reporting information
  • Expected reporting procedures

Continuing education credit is separate from Utah RRP certification and does not replace the state certification or renewal process.

Cancelling Your Registration

If you are unable to attend a scheduled class, contact LeadShield as soon as possible.

Cancellation requests should include:

  • Attendee name
  • Course name
  • Scheduled class date
  • Contact information

Whether a cancellation qualifies for a refund, transfer, or class credit will depend on the terms associated with the specific registration.

Class-Specific Cancellation Terms

Cancellation and refund terms may vary depending on the course, venue, class date, and scheduling requirements.

If a specific cancellation deadline, transfer policy, refund condition, or fee is displayed during registration, those class-specific terms will apply.

Attendees should review all registration information before submitting payment.

Transfers to Another Class

LeadShield may allow a registration to be transferred to another available class when scheduling and seating permit.

Transfers may depend on:

  • Availability in another class
  • Course type
  • Timing of the request
  • Applicable price differences
  • Training eligibility requirements

Transfers are not guaranteed.

Late Arrivals

Attendees should arrive early enough to complete any required check-in before class begins.

RRP courses require participation in the applicable instructional and hands-on components. A late arrival may affect the attendee’s ability to successfully complete the course.

LeadShield may decline to admit a late attendee when the missed instruction would prevent proper course completion.

Leaving a Class Early

Attendees are expected to remain for the full required course duration and complete all applicable training components.

An attendee who leaves before completing the required course may not be eligible to receive course-completion documentation.

Leaving early does not automatically qualify an attendee for a refund or class credit.

No-Shows

A registrant who does not attend a scheduled class and does not provide advance notice may be treated as a no-show.

No-show registrations may not qualify for a refund, transfer, or class credit, subject to the terms presented during registration and applicable law.

If an emergency prevents attendance, contact LeadShield as soon as reasonably possible.

Course-Completion Documentation

Applicable course-completion documentation is provided only after successful completion of the required course components.

Registration, attendance, or payment alone does not establish that the attendee has completed the training.

Course-completion documentation should also not be treated as proof that all Utah certification steps have been completed.

Firm Certification Is Separate

Individual renovator training does not automatically certify the attendee’s business.

Companies performing regulated renovation activities for compensation must separately apply to the Utah Division of Air Quality for firm certification.

Attendees who operate or work for a regulated firm are responsible for confirming that the appropriate company certification is also current.

Changes to Class Dates or Locations

LeadShield may occasionally need to change a class date, start time, instructor, or venue because of scheduling issues, venue availability, weather, safety concerns, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

When a significant change occurs, LeadShield will make reasonable efforts to contact registered attendees using the information provided during registration.

Classes Cancelled by LeadShield

LeadShield may cancel or postpone a class because of insufficient enrollment, instructor availability, venue issues, weather, emergencies, or other circumstances.

If LeadShield cancels a class and does not provide the scheduled training, affected attendees may be offered:

  • Transfer to another available class
  • Future class credit
  • Refund of the applicable course fee

LeadShield is not responsible for unrelated travel, lodging, transportation, lost work time, or other expenses unless otherwise required by law.

Refunds

When a registration qualifies for a refund under the applicable terms, LeadShield will process the approved amount using an appropriate payment method.

Refunds will generally not exceed the amount paid for the refundable portion of the registration.

Payment-processing times may affect when an approved refund appears in the attendee’s account.

Registration Credits

LeadShield may offer a future class credit in some circumstances.

Any class credit will be subject to the terms communicated when it is issued, including any course restrictions or expiration date.

If an attendee accepts a class credit instead of a refund, that credit may resolve the applicable cancellation request.

Special Circumstances

LeadShield understands that emergencies and unexpected situations can occur.

Requests involving significant medical, family, or other unforeseen circumstances may be reviewed individually.

Providing an explanation does not guarantee a refund or transfer, but LeadShield may consider reasonable accommodations when appropriate.

Incorrect or Duplicate Registrations

If you believe you registered for the wrong class, submitted a duplicate registration, or were charged incorrectly, contact LeadShield promptly.

We will review the registration and determine whether a correction, transfer, credit, or refund is appropriate.

State Certification Responsibility

LeadShield helps students understand the training and Utah certification process, but each attendee remains responsible for completing the state requirements that apply to them.

This includes submitting accurate certification materials, maintaining current certification, completing refresher training when required, and complying with Utah DAQ requirements.

LeadShield does not control state processing times, application decisions, fees, or certification outcomes.

Changes to This Policy

LeadShield may update this Training Registration, Cancellation and Refund Policy as training offerings, registration practices, payment systems, or business requirements change.

The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised when changes are made.

Class-specific terms provided at the time of registration will generally govern that registration unless otherwise required by law.
